Set in a glorious, peaceful rural location in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains and close to the Cardigan coast and the Ancient Capital of Wales Machynlleth, Cefn Coch Farm Self-Catering Holiday Cottages are a very comfortable holiday base for exploring this beautiful part of West Mid Wales. Converted from an unused stone barn called Llechwedd Einion, the semi-detached holiday cottages now offer modern, luxury accommodation lying in a spectacular hillside setting. You will find the self-catering holiday cottages on our hill farm about a mile above the hamlet of Glaspwll, near Machynlleth, above the forgotten Llyfnant Valley.
Access to the cottages and farm is via a bumpy farm track which is very steep at the bottom - so take care if driving a low-slung or heavily laden car!!! We are always happy to assist you with heavy luggage when you arrive. There is no need for a 4 x 4, you just need enough "welly" to get up the hill and there are lots of hills in Wales!!
When booked together, The Cottage and The Barn can sleep up to 10 people. Great holiday cottages for reunions or family get-togethers.
Peace and quiet, picnics by the stream, walks through the Bluebells ... This is a truly special rural hide-away. Off the beaten track - there is no passing traffic (except the odd tractor and horses on the bridlepath!!) as the cottages are located at the end of the farm track which leads nowhere!!
The unspoilt and undisturbed location of the farm cottages is a haven for many varieties of wildlife, and an ideal base for keen bird watchers and nature lovers to see some unusual species from the doorstep. Recent sightings reported by our guests include the grasshopper warbler, redstarts (several breeding pairs around the cottages), grey wagtails, tree pipits, meadow pipits, red kite, grey heron, whinchats, stonechats, redpolls, black caps, pied fly catchers, and many more. The nearby beaches, Osprey Project and Dovey estuary offer some wonderful sightings of waders and other water fowl and the RSPB reserve at Ynys-hir is just a short drive away.
Please contact us for further information and availability for specific dates.
Please note: children under the age of 8 must be supervised at all times because of the numerous streams on the farm which can flow very fast.
One well-behaved dog is allowed in The Cottage, no pets allowed in The Barn and we ask people to only smoke outside the properties.
